The FCT Police Command Deploys 30 Motorcycles and Personnel to Rural Communities.

CP intends to strengthen security response activities in rural areas.

On May 6, 2024, the commissioner of police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, PSC, mni, began the deployment of motorbikes and troops in rural regions in the Federal Capital Territory to boost security response operations and efforts against banditry.

You may recall that the Honorable Minister, FCT, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike recently donated thirty (30) motorcycles to the command as part of his ongoing support and responsiveness to residents’ security and safety, which he believed should extend beyond the metropolis to remote and rural communities in the nation’s capital where bandits and kidnappers have recently established hideouts.

The deployment of the motorcycles, painted in police colors, was intended to aid in the rapid operational response to towns and places where vehicles may struggle to evaluate or navigate when necessary.

While expressing deep gratitude to the Honorable Minister of FCT, the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, promises to make good use of this equipment to ensure the safety and security of FCT people. He also advises homeowners to remain vigilant and use the police emergency lines to report suspicious activity: 08032003913, 08028940883, 08061581938, and 07057337653 PCB: 09022222352, CRU: 08107314192.
