7800 Unverified Civil Servants in Jigawa State May Lose April Salaries

Jigawa State faces the possibility of 7800 unverified civil servants losing their April salaries due to the ongoing verification and enrollment process into the integrated personnel Payroll Management System (IPPMS).

This was disclosed in a communique released after the Joint Emergency State Executive Council, SEC, of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade Union Congress, TUC, convened to address the pressing issues by the NLC chairperson Sanusi Alhassan, by the council. The document disclosed that challenges, including injuries during data capture and alleged extortion, have marred the verification process.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) have called on the state government to pay the unverified workers using the old system until they are successfully captured.

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Aminu Usman stated that out of the unverified workers, 4496 J-teach workers have been screened, and the remaining workers will undergo screening soon.
