Initially, Osayi-Samuel and two of his teammates faced misconduct charges from the Turkish Football Federation. However, Osayi-Samuel was later cleared of any wrongdoing in the incident, as reported by Turkish sources.
Trabzonspor has been ordered to play six matches behind closed doors due to the violence, and their coach, Egemen Korkmaz, has been banned from the dressing room and bench for one match for fighting with a rival player. Fenerbahce players Jayden Oosterwolde and Irfan Can Egribayat received one-game bans for engaging in altercations with opposing supporters. FIFA President Gianni Infantino denounced the incident as ‘absolutely unacceptable’, and the TFF previously stated that those responsible will face ‘necessary penal sanctions’.
