A heavy rainstorm has caused significant damage to the communities of Omu and Ijelu Ekiti, located in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State. The storm resulted in the destruction of building roofs, walls, and the displacement of around 100 residents.

Among the affected structures were churches, schools, and residential buildings, including the Palace of the Elejelu of Ijelu Ekiti, Oba Isaac Ajayi Adetoyinbo.
