Dana Air Apologizes, Retimes Flights After Runway Incident

Dana Air has issued an apology to its passengers and made adjustments to its flight operations following an incident where one of its planes skidded off the runway at Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos State.

The incident, which occurred on Tuesday morning, involved a Dana Airline aircraft veering off the runway at Murtala Mohammed Airport, Ikeja, during a landing attempt.

In response to the situation, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, the Head of Corporate Communications, released a statement in Lagos on Tuesday, expressing the airline’s regret and apology to all affected passengers due to the disruption in flight schedules caused by the runway deviation incident.

Ezenwa emphasized the airline’s understanding of the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers whose travel plans were disrupted, stating, “We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience caused.”

He mentioned that the remaining flights for the day had been rescheduled, and affected passengers had been informed through email, text messages, and phone calls. Dana Air assured passengers that they were working diligently to minimize disruptions and cater to their travel requirements.

Acknowledging the crew’s professionalism and swift response in managing the runway incident, Ezenwa praised their quick thinking, adherence to safety protocols, and effective communication, ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers without any injuries.
