Air Peace, Nigeria’s flag carrier, has announced an increase in capacity on its Lagos-London flights due to high demand. The airline made the announcement on its X page on Wednesday, April 2, 2024, after selling out tickets for the Lagos-London flights until September. The increased capacity means more seats are now available for passengers.
Stanley Olisa, spokesperson for Air Peace, explained to BusinessDay that the airline increased capacity by opening more bookings to accommodate the high demand. Air Peace would like to thank the Nigerian population, both in Nigeria and in the United Kingdom, for their support, and the airline is committed to making the whole country proud.
Allen Onyema, chief executive officer of Air Peace, said in an interview on Arise TV on April 2, 2024, that the airline faced internal and external obstacles before it could commence Lagos-London flight operation, adding that it took the airline seven years to be able to commence operations. Onyema also said that the country is being fleeced by all the airlines “going to London from this place”, and people were paying five times more than they should have been paying for flights.
The increased capacity on the Lagos-London route has been well received by passengers, with one user appealing to Air Peace to fly to Canada.
