APC Chieftain Cairo Ojougboh Dies While Watching AFCON Game

Cairo Ojougboh, a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has passed away.

According to a family source who spoke to Channels Television, Ojougboh collapsed in his office in Abuja while watching the Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match between Nigeria and South Africa on Wednesday.

President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the family of the late former NDDC Executive Director.

In a statement issued by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu expressed prayers for the peaceful rest of the departed soul and offered words of comfort to the grieving family. He encouraged them to seek solace and strength in God Almighty, who oversees the affairs of humanity, and in the cherished memories and contributions of the late APC leader.

Ojougboh previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 and was a prominent figure in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
