Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas has called on government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to enhance citizen participation in the budget process.
During a citizens’ town hall meeting on the 2024 Appropriation Bill in Abuja, Abbas stated that the House aims to reinforce provisions in the Fiscal Responsibility Act to improve public consultation and access to information during the budget cycle.
He highlighted the importance of democracy and citizen engagement in governance, encouraging careful analysis of the 2024 budget to ensure it reflects the needs and aspirations of all Nigerian citizens.
