Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, has stated that the present administration is unwilling to rely on borrowing to finance the 2024 Budget.
Speaking before the joint Senate Committee on Finance, Appropriations, National Planning, Local and Foreign Debt, Edun stated that the focus should be on generating sufficient revenue and reducing the current high deficit financing.
Meanwhile, the Chairman Committee on Finance, Sen. Sani Musa, expressed strong reservations about the 2024 revenue projections of some of the revenue-earning agencies. He also cautioned against external interventions that could lead to increased deficit financing for the country.
