Nigeria’s Housing Deficit Requires N21 Trillion – VP Shettima

In a recent press release from the Office of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima highlighted Nigeria’s staggering housing deficit, estimating a colossal N21 trillion needed to effectively address the issue.

The Vice President made these remarks during the groundbreaking ceremony for a 500-unit Housing Estate project initiated by the Sokoto State Government.

Senator Shettima commended Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his proactive efforts in tackling the housing needs of the state’s residents. He underscored the gravity of the housing shortfall in Nigeria, which currently stands at a daunting 28 million houses, necessitating a substantial financial commitment to bridge the gap.

Additionally, the Vice President praised Governor Aliyu’s dedication to completing inherited infrastructure projects, such as roads and flyovers, as a testament to effective governance.
