Earlier today, a tanker transporting Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) experienced a mechanical failure near Gwagwa primary school along the Gwagwa-Karmo road.
As repair efforts were underway, an unexpected spark ignited a massive explosion, engulfing the tanker in flames.
Fortunately, no lives were lost in the incident.
Responding swiftly to the emergency, a team of dedicated police officers from GWAGWA Divisional Police Headquarters, led by the Divisional Police Officer, together with operatives from the Federal Fire Service, arrived at the scene.
The combined efforts of the police officers and firefighters included establishing safety measures, controlling the crowd, and taking all necessary precautions to prevent any further damage or harm.
In the meantime, the public is urged to disregard any rumors or misinformation surrounding the incident while investigations commence.
SP Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the FCT Police Command, further urged citizens to refrain from spreading unverified information and instead trust official updates from the relevant authorities.
