The Nigerian National Petrol Company Limited has acknowledged that it has modified Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, pump prices across the nation.
The development equally triggered a 100 per cent hike in transport fares, while long queues resurfaced at fuel stations across Lagos, Abuja, Ilorin, Benin, Asaba, Port Harcourt, Kano, Makurdi and other major cities and urban areas.
The national oil firm claimed that the altered pump price was in keeping with “current market realities” in a statement issuedon Wednesday and signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Garba Deen Muhammad.
A document purportedly issued by the NNPC detailed the most recent cost of PMS inseveral states and the Federal Capital Territory.
