Sudan: 130 stranded Nigerians from Port Sudan arrive Nigeria

On Friday at noon, 130 Nigerians who were stranded in Port Sudan arrived in Nigeria.

On Friday morning, the Nigerian Ambassador to Sudan, Safiu Olaniyan, spoke in a Twitter video where he mentioned that it had been a difficult task, but he was happy that some of the students would be coming back to Nigeria.

Olaniyan observed that the Federal Government had arranged the airlift. According to Nasir Sani-Gwarzo, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, there are 1,700 Nigerians who are stranded and under the government’s supervision, and they are awaiting evacuation back to Nigeria.
