Police rescue seven kidnapped passengers in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has rescued seven abducted victims in the state’s Owan East Local Government Area.

Last week Tuesday, gunmen kidnapped passengers on Toyota Sienna bus along the Afuze-Iheivbe Auchi Road.

Two of the passengers were recovered last week, and after four days of jungle scouring, the police and a local vigilante rescued another seven on Saturday, bringing the total to nine.

Chidi Nwabuzor, the state police command’s spokeswoman, confirmed the occurrence on Monday, Mat 8, saying the victims were rescued on Saturday by a joint security squad.

“Seven victims, four males and three females, were rescued by police on Saturday while the security team was bush combing.” “Everyone who was kidnapped has been rescued,” he stated.

According to the PPRO, only nine people were taken by kidnappers, their names are; Kenneth Ushenna, ‘m’ driver, Omokhude Favor, ‘f’ from Sabogida Ora, Odiawa Faith ‘f’ from Aviosi Owan West, Omokhoje Peter, ‘m’ from Uzeba, Tina Evbuomwan from Sapele road Benin city and  Bar.
