The Bauchi State Police Command has detained ten people for different offences and criminal schemes in the state.
SP Ahmed Wakil, the command’s spokesperson, stated this in a statement on Friday.
Wakil stated that the accused were detained for suspected rape and thuggery.
He said that the command’s agents were able to track down five suspects for alleged rape and five others involved in different types of thuggery and criminal conspiracy in Bauchi, Dambam, Toro, and Itas-Gadau Local Government Areas (LGAs).
“Investigation is ongoing, and efforts to apprehend other conspirators are being stepped up.”
“When the investigation is completed, the suspects will be charged and prosecuted,” he stated.
According to the spokesperson, the state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Aminu Alhassan, has complimented the operatives for their devotion and professionalism.
Alhassan also reminded state citizens of the command’s continuous commitment to the safety of people and property in the state.
He emphasized that there will be no safe havens for criminals in the state, encouraging inhabitants to be watchful and security conscious.
