The chairman of the National Population Commission, Nasir Isa-Kwarra, revealed that the N224 billion released by the Federal Government for the 2023 housing and population census has been spent on various preparations including printing papers and training adhoc staff members.
The initial budget for the exercise was N800 billion but was reduced after it was postponed.
The President postponed the census and the incoming administration will decide on the new date for the exercise.
