Doguwa has no case to answer on murder charges – Kano govt

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Kano State, Musa Abdullahi-Lawan, has cleared the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, of charges relating to murder.

Abdullahi-Lawan stated that the evidence against Doguwa was contradictory and there was no medical evidence to support the death of the victims.

He said the pistol and ammunition were found with Doguwa’s aides, but they were given to them by Ballistic states and were found to be intact.

Mr Abdullahi-Lawan reiterated the ministry’s commitment to ensuring ultimate dispensation of Justice, equity and fairness irrespective of who it favours.

He added that eight to 12 other suspects would be charged to court with mischief by the fire under section 336 of the Penal Code as amended.

Mr Doguwa was arraigned before a Senior Magistrate on March 1, for alleged murder and was admitted to N500 million bail by a Federal High Court, Kano, on March 6.
