During the inauguration of the permanent site of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) in Abuja on Thursday, President Muhammadu Buhari praised the Ninth National Assembly, led by Senate President Ahmad Lawan and House of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila, for being one of the most productive in terms of output and outcome.
He expressed gratitude to the National Assembly’s leadership for providing their support.
Buhari said that this Ninth Assembly will go down in history as one of the most productive due to its output and outcome.
He thanked the National Assembly’s leadership for supporting him in fulfilling his promises to the people of Nigeria.
Buhari stressed the significance of the legislature in a democratic system and stated that he did not interfere with its affairs to promote an independent National Assembly.
He also mentioned that the NILDS permanent site is a crucial move towards enhancing the legislature’s ability to improve its functions in lawmaking, oversight, and presentation.
