On Friday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that Ugonna Ozurigbo from the Peoples Democratic Party had won the House of Representatives election that took place on February 25 in the Nwangele/Nkwerre/Isu/Njaba Federal Constituency of Imo State.
The PDP candidate won the federal constituency election with 19,971 votes, followed by the Labour Party candidate with 9,372 votes and the All Progressives Congress candidate with 8,991 votes, according to the collation officer, Prof Rosetta Okechukwu. The results were announced at the collation office at the Nwangele Local Government Area.
The election was declared inconclusive by INEC on February 27 because voting did not occur in certain areas of Njaba LGA.
The candidate from the PDP disputed the decision made by the electoral commission to declare the election as inconclusive.
