No fewer than ten students from the Government Secondary School, in Kachia’s local government area of Kaduna State, have been abducted by gunmen.
Reacting to the incident in a statement, the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs Commissioner, Samuel Aruwan, said the students were kidnapped on Monday.
The statement reads,
“The Kaduna Government has received preliminary reports from security agencies on the kidnapping of approximately ten students in Kachia LGA,”
“According to preliminary reports, students from the Government Secondary School, Awon (a day secondary school), were abducted on Monday.”
“The exact location of the incident is unknown, but detailed reports are awaited to determine whether the incident occurred on school grounds or elsewhere.”
He went on to say that once the reports are received, the state government will issue a public statement.
