The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called for a review of the monthly allowance paid to corps members.
Acting Director-General, Christy Uba, made the request during a courtesy visit by the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu.
Uba noted that the corps members were eager to participate in the 2023 general election.
She described the meeting as timely, stressing that the NYSC was committed to the partnership.
In 2011, the Federal Government has approved an increment in the monthly allowance of Corps members from N9,775 to N19,800.
In 2020, the Nigerian government has approved the payment of N33,000 as monthly allowance for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).
