President Muhammadu Buhari has requested the Senate to confirm the appointment of the former Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase (retd.) as the new Chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC).
The President in a letter read in plenary on Tuesday by the President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, said the appointment is in accordance with the provision of section 154 (1) of the 1999 Constitution as amended.
President Buhari also forwarded two names to be confirmed as Resident Electoral Commissioners for Independent National Electoral Commission.
Another letter received by the Senate is for the appointment of 5 members of the Code of Conduct Bureau.
