National Grid Collapses Again

The national grid may have collapsed again throwing some cities in the country into power blackout.

Spokesperson of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC), Emeka Eze in a statement on Monday said the system collapse occured around 10:51am.

The national power grid has collapsed more than six times in 2023 prior to the current incident.

On the other hand, the Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company, in a statement via its verified Twitter handle, said, “This is to inform you that the outage you are currently experiencing is due to the system collapse of the national grid, which occurred earlier today at 10:50hrs. This has affected the Transmission Stations within our network and resulted in the loss of power supply to our customers. Kindly bear with us as we await the restoration of the grid.”

Meanwhile, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) also confirmed the collapse.
