A Federal High Court in Osogbo has ordered the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) to halt all plans towards conducting local government elections in the state.
OSIEC, had on August 15th, announced its plans to conduct a local government election.
It maintained that the poll was in accordance with the newly signed OSIEC law.
However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state took the case to court and announced plans to boycott the council poll if OSIEC conducted the election.
Osun PDP had also alleged that it was needless for the Governor Gboyega Oyetola-led administration to conduct the election now.
