University placements for Ukraine-based Nigerian students – FG

The Nigerian government has offered Nigerian students whose academics have been affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine admissions into Nigerian universities for them to complete their studies.

The advertorial, dated July 4 and signed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ spokesperson Francisca K. Omayuli, called on interested Nigerian students in Ukraine to visit the ministry’s website for further details.

It read, “The federal government of Nigeria wishes to inform Nigerian students who returned from Ukraine following the conflict in that country, that efforts are being made to facilitate their placement into various Nigerian tertiary institutions, to enable them continue their studies,” said an advertorial by Nigeria’s foreign affairs ministry.”

This offer comes amid the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), which has lingered around for more than 3 months causing academic activities in universities across the country to halt.
