Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified foreign contractor at Ogbonmo area of Ijebu-Owo in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
It was gathered that the gunmen trailed the Lebanese national to the construction site where he works at about 5:30pm on Wednesday and attacked him.
A soldier attached as a security escort to the expatriate and his driver were killed by armed men, numbering about six.
The identity of the victims had not been revealed as of the time this report was filed.
A source said, “The man we call white engineer has been kidnapped. His driver and his security soldier were killed. The gunmen fired many shots into the air to disperse the people around.”
The Police Public Relations Officer of the State Command, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident, adding that efforts were ongoing to secure the release of the kidnapped victim.
Also, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in Ondo State, Adetunji Adeleye, said his men were already working on the case.
