The senator representing Adamawa Central, Aishatu Binani, has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the 2023 governorship election in Adamawa State.
Senator Binani becomes the first female governorship aspirant to win a primary election to represent a major political party in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
She polled 430 votes to defeat her closest rival, Nuhu Ribadu, who got 288 votes.
Closely following were a former governor of the state, Umaru Bindow, who scored 103 votes; Abdulrazak Namdas who got 94 votes; Safari Theman who scored 21 and Umar Mustapha who got 39.
