A gas tanker exploded at the Mowe town in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun state on Sunday night.
An eyewitness said the tanker caught fire near a First Bank building located along the Mowe area of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident took place around 10 pm, causing gridlock and panic in the area.
The incident was confirmed by a spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe.
In a similar incident, four unidentified persons were confirmed dead on Sunday evening when a 45,000 litre-tanker fully ladden with petrol ran into a heavy duty vehicle conveying cement and burst into flames at Aiyetoro end of Lekki-Epe Expressway by Eleko Bus Stop, Ibeju Lekki Lagos State.
