Fuel Scarcity: Airlines to shut down operation

Nigerian airlines on Thursday announced that they are shutting down operations over aviation fuel scarcity.

Air Peace, Dana Air, Ibom Air, Aero Contractors, and other airlines announced disruptions in flight schedules on Wednesday due to the lingering fuel crisis bedeviling the nation.

In a statement, Air Peace said, “Unfortunately, the fuel scarcity is starting to seriously impact our operations as we are likely going to experience flight disruption today and in the coming days until the situation abates.

“The aviation fuel crisis is taking a new turn and has continued to affect our operations,” said a statement by Air Peace.

Also, Ibom Air explained that its operations had “encountered a situation today where aviation fuel is scarce and therefore unavailable at almost all our flight destinations.”

“We have no indication when the issue will be resolved. However, we are working with our fellow airlines and fuel suppliers to find a solution,” Ibom Air statement explained.”
