Unidentified gunmen have killed and set ablaze the body of Ifeanyi Orogbo, a member of Ebubeagu Security Network (ESN), says the police command in Ebonyi.
Mr Orogbo, 32, was murdered on Saturday night in Igweledeoha, Amagu, in Ikwo local government area, added the command.
According to Loveth Odah, the police spokeswoman in Ebonyi, the DPO of Ikwo Police Division received a phone call from a source at Igweledeoha that one ESN operative had been killed.
“He was partially burnt by the unknown persons in his beer parlor shop on Agubia Road. The DPO said that he quickly mobilized a team of police operatives to the area, but the culprits had deserted the place when they got there,” the police officer explained.
“He said the corpse has been taken to the general hospital for preservation and autopsy,” the police spokesperson said.
She further disclosed that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the crime.
