British Airways cancelled its flight from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, into London, Heathrow, in the United Kingdom, on Sunday due to operational reasons.
Also, all flights from London into Lagos were cancelled.
Sources at the airport linked the development to the implementation of the travel ban imposed by the UK government on countries considered red flags to the new Omicron variant of COVID-19.
Several passengers who had thronged the airport for check-in procedures were turned back as there were few staffers of the airline to attend to their inquiry.
Some workers who were at the counters informed the devastated passengers that flights into the United Kingdom were rescheduled for early hours of Monday.
