Seven passengers burnt to death as commercial bus catches fire in Osun

Seven passengers were feared killed on Wednesday morning when an 18-seater bus was involved in a lone accident in Osun State.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at about 3:45 am when the bus rammed into a billboard along the Ilesha/Osu expressway on speed.

The vehicle, which was coming from Zamfara State, caught fire, burning the victims to death.

The Field Commandant of Osun Security Network, ‘Amotekun’, Comrade Amitolu Shittu, confirmed the accident.

He said, “The vehicle was on top speed when it ran into a billboard. The vehicle was carrying two motorcycles and passengers.

“Some passengers were burnt beyond recognition. The FRSC and Fire Service joined us.”

The Sector Commander of FRSC, Osun State, Paul Okpe, also confirmed the incident.

He said, “A white Toyota Hiace was involved in an accident. Seven people died and four were burnt beyond recognition.”
