Bandits have killed a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rilwanu Gadagau, and abducted many others along the Kaduna-Zaria highway.
Gadagau, who represented Giwa West Constituency, was the Chairman of the Committee on Local Government and Rural Development of House before his death.
The attack was confirmed to newsmen in Kaduna State on Wednesday by the Clerk, Kaduna State House of Assembly, Bello Zubairu.
It was learnt that while the bandits killed the lawmaker, they abducted many travellers.
A Former Kaduna Senator, Shehu Sani, also broke the news on Twitter.
Sani tweeted, “A member of Kaduna state House of Assembly Hon Lirwan Aminu Gadagau from Giwa LG is reportedly shot and killed by Bandits on his way to Kaduna. A tragedy, a day. Inna lillahi wainna Illayhir rajiun.”
