The Minister of Defence, Maj Gen. Bashir Salihu Magashi (rtd), alongside other service chiefs, arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Friday, October 29.
Bashir led the delegation of all service chiefs, which include the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Awwal Gambo; to assess ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Borno.
The security chiefs held a closed door meeting with the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Maj. Gen. CG Musa, along with his field commanders.
The meeting is coming less than 24hrs after ISWAP fighters attacked Damboa town where four persons were killed.
