Gunmen kidnap Obasanjo’s workers in Ogun

Gunmen have kidnapped three workers of a farm reportedly owned by Nigeria’s former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, in Kobape, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The assailants were said to have waylaid the workers at the Obasanjo holdings on Wednesday evening, shot at their vehicle and whisked them away.

The abducted workers, whose names could not be retrieved as of the time this report was filed, were simply identified as financial controller, group auditor and group store manager.

The incident was confirmed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi.

He said the incident happened around 6pm on Wednesday and that policemen have launched a rescue operation.

Oyeyemi said, “Yes, it happened today (Wednesday) around 6: pm. There is Obasanjo farm around the area in Kobape.

“Our men have begun searching for them and we will ensure they are rescued.”
