The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa, was rushed out of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, after slumping at an event organized at Aso Rock on Thursday.
The EFCC boss was giving his goodwill message at the National Identity Day celebration when he suddenly stopped speaking.
He was speaking about a man arrested by the commission in Ibadan, Oyo state, with 116 SIM cards when the incident happened.
Bawa had stopped talking and covered his face with his right palm, saying, “Please, excuse me, I can’t continue.”
He was afterwards assisted to his seat by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, and other senior officials at the event, but Bawa slumped on his seat and was immediately rushed out of the villa.
However, later, the Master of Ceremony (MC) announced that Bawa’s condition was stable.
“I am happy to announce to you that the EFCC Chairman is now stable,” he said.
