Buhari appoints new EFCC Board members

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of new members into the board of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The president’s letter seeking the confirmation of the new members was read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during plenary on Tuesday.

George Abang (Cross River) was appointed as secretary of the board, while Lukman Mohammed (Edo), Kola Adeshina (Kwara), Anumba Adaeze (Enugu) and Mohammed Yahaya(Yobe) were appointed as board members.

Buhari, in his letter, said the nominations were in consonance with the provision of section 2(1) of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Act (2004).

The appointments are subjected to the ratification of the senate.
