The Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Ismaila Abdulmummuni Kamba, and his deputy, Muhammadu Buhari Aliyu, have been impeached.
The impeachment was announced by the Chairman, House Committee on Information and Culture, Muhammad Tukur, shortly after a closed door plenary on Tuesday.
Tukur did not disclose the reason for the impeachment but said 20 out of the 24 members of the assembly endorsed the impeachment.
The speaker was immediately replaced with the Deputy Chief Whip, Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar-Lolo, while the deputy speaker was replaced with Alhaji Muhammad Ankwai.
