Journalists, supporters barred as Sunday Igboho’s trial resumes behind closed doors in Cotonou

Journalists and supporters of Yoruba Nation activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known Sunday Igboho, were barred from witnessing his hearing on Monday.

It was gathered that Igboho’s supporters arrived in court as early as 7:30am, anticipating the arrival of Igboho, who has been in detention since Thursday.

The Yoruba activist was said to have arrived at the court hours earlier for the trial which was scheduled for 10am, to avoid the possibility of any drama or clash.

A source within the courts said that Igboho had been brought to court earlier than anyone else to avoid the possibility of any drama or clash, adding  that Igboho was now at the “phase of law enforcement” in the court, and was currently indoors with the prosecutor in charge.

Igboho’s cleric, Idris Oladejo,  confirmed to  newsmen that his friend, whom he “had been fasting and praying for, is in court”.
