The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has published the list of cleared candidates for the November 6 Governorship Election in Anambra state.
The names of candidates were contained in a statement released on Friday by INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.
However, the electoral umpire dropped the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Valentine Ozigbo, and that of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Chukwuma Soludo.
The commission cited Court order for the exclusion of the parties.
Recall that Soludo, who is the former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), emerged winner of the APGA faction loyal to the state Governor, Willie Obiano.
However, the candidate of the other APGA faction, Chukwuma Micheal Umeoji, was cleared by INEC for the election.
