Abducted Emir of Kajuru regains freedom, wives, others still with bandits

The Emir of Kajuru in Kaduna State, Alhassan Adamu, who was kidnapped by bandits on Sunday, alongside his wives, grandchildren and domestic staff, has regained freedom.

The Emir’s eldest son, Musa Alhassan, told BBC Hausa that his father returned home alone on Monday afternoon.

It was gathered that Kajuru residents besieged the palace of their emir on Monday evening, following news that he has regained freedom from the abductors.

His son said he came back without his wives and others who were kidnapped with him at his palace on Sunday.

“We were all at home when we saw him approaching us inside the house alone,” Mr Alhassan said.

However, it is not clear whether a ransom was paid for his release, as it was earlier reported  that the kidnappers demanded N200 million as ransom.
