Armed masquerades attacked a mosque at Oluode Aranyin area of Osogbo, Osun State on Sunday evening.
One person was reportedly killed while many worshippers were injured during the attack.
An eyewitness said the reason for the invasion by the masquerades was unknown as of the time this report was filed, adding that the masquerades first threw stones at the Muslim faithful who warned them not to repeat the same but they continued.
The masquerades then shot indiscriminately, killing one worshipper in the process.
This is as gunmen also attacked a Fulani settlement at Papa area in the state on Sunday evening and kidnapped one person.
It was gathered that the gunmen, numbering about three, arrived at the settlement in Ora-Igbomina in Ifedayo Local Government Area around 8pm and shoot severally to scare residents.
Reports say the kidnapped victim is the daughter of one Alhaji Fulani, whose residence was attacked.
