NECO appoints John Ogborodi as Acting Registrar

Ebikibina John Ogborodi has been appointed as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the National Examinations Council, NECO.

This is following the death of Professor Godswill Obioma, who died on June 1, 2021.

In a statement issued on Thursday and signed by the Head of Information and Public Relations division of the examination council, Azzez Sani, the appointment was made by NECO’s governing board at an emergency meeting held on Wednesday.

The statement read in part; “The Governing Board of the National Examinations Council (NECO) has approved the appointment of  Ebikibina John Ogborodi as the Acting Registrar/Chief Executive of the Council.

“The appointment followed the death of the Registrar, Professor Godswill Obioma on Monday, 1st June, 2021 after a brief illness.

Until his appointment as NECO Registrar, Ogborodi was the Director, Special Duties in the Council. He is from Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
