Activities at the Senate wing of the National Assembly complex were disrupted following the heavy leaking of roofs due to the Tuesday morning rain in Abuja.
The Senate plenary was halted as Senators, who were already at the chamber, were forced to come outside.
It was gathered that National Assembly staff had to block the water with buckets and dustpans, as the entire environment was flooded.
It was also learnt that lawmakers, who came later while the place was filled with water, had to go through the House of Representatives wing.
