Herbalist arrested with two human skulls in Delta, passengers intercepted with human blood

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested Godfrey Akpudje, a 60-year-old native doctor, with two human skulls.

It was gathered that Akpudje was arrested following a report lodged last Thursday by one Ejiro Okoro that the corpse of his sister, who died sometime in 2019 and was buried at Ekpan Ovu, was unearthed by unknown persons.

In the course of investigation, the Divisional Police command in Isiokolo gathered that Akpudje allegedly exhumed the corpse and removed the skull.

The suspect, who was immediately arrested confessed to have gotten one of the two skulls found with him from Osun State through a native doctor.

The Delta State acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, told newsmen that investigation was ongoing into the incident.

In the same vein, the Dragon Patrol Team 31 of the Delta State Police Command intercepted a Sienna car traveling from Asaba to Kwale along the Nsukwa junction, Ogwashi-Uku/Kwale road during a stop and search duty at about 11:45am on Monday.

During the search, three passengers, Monday Nwite (27yrs), Maduabuchi Nweke (26yrs) and Nwite Sunday (21yrs) were found with a container filled with fresh human blood.

The suspects, all from Ebenta village in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, were immediately arrested.

During interrogation, the suspects confessed to have killed some persons in Ebonyi State and were taking the blood to a native doctor in Kwale, whose identity was not disclosed, for rituals purposes.

The PPRO, Bright Edafe, revealed that a rosary necklace tied with charms was also recovered from the suspects.
