Unknown gunmen broke into Hilltop Hotel at Tunga Maje community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Wednesday night and abducted the owner of the hotel and some guests.
The owner of the hotel, identified as Prince Adejo, and six other people were holding a meeting inside his hotel when the armed men attacked them.
According to residents, the recent abduction is said to be the fifth in a space of six months.
An eyewitness narrated that the gunmen, numbering 10 broke into the hotel located at Unguwar Jikupa on the edge of the town, around 10:30pm and shot twice to scare people before whisking away the victims.
Police spokesperson in the FCT, ASP Mariam Yusuf, confirmed the incident but did not go into details.
As of the time this report was filed, the kidnappers were yet to contact the family members or friends of the victims.
