The former Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Turkur Buratai and Chief of Defence Staff, Abayomi Olonisakin, have been deployed to Benin Republic and Cameroon respectively.
The federal government presented letters of credence to the former military chiefs on Tuesday in Abuja.
The letters were handed over to the two ambassadors by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.
Recall that in February, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Buratai, Olonisakin, former Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete Ibas, and Former Chief of Air Staff, Sadique Abubakar, as Non-career Ambassadors.
Muhammed Bulkachuwa, presented a report on behalf of the senate foreign affairs committee in February, saying the nominees met the requirements for the positions.
He said, “The nominees rose to a point of their career that has made them eminently qualified. The committee is satisfied with their character and performance.”
The ex-service chiefs were subsequently confirmed by the senate.
