Bandits have attacked Federal Government Girls College in Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State, and kidnapped some students.
As of the time of filing this report, details of the incident were still sketchy but there are reports that a security operative was shot dead during the operation.
The attackers, who reportedly rode on motorcycles, were said to have invaded the school from neighboring Rijau forest in the early hours of Thursday.
According to security sources, the armed men overpowered the mobile policemen guarding the school, and abducted at least 30 students and three teachers.
