Anambra Guber: Former CBN Governor, Soludo, emerges APGA candidate

A former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo, has emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the November Governorship election in Anambra State.

Soludo won the governorship primary of the APGA held on Wednesday in Awka.

Recall that Soludo, who was CBN Governor from 2004 to 2009, was earlier disqualified by a faction of the party headed by Jude Okeke, along with other aspirants.

But Victor Oye, the National Chairman of the party, had told the public to disregard the news about Soludo’s disqualification.

In his acceptance speech, the former CBN Governor said he was humbled to emerge APGA’s candidate.

He said, “This moment is God’s time, and God’s time is the time.

“I’m grateful to the party delegates, the leadership of APGA and Obiano for electing him as the party governorship candidate.”
