‘Ordinary president’ of Brekete Family, Ahmed Isah, announces plan to stop programme

Popular host of Brekete Family, Ahmed Isah, also known as ‘ordinary president, has announced plans to end his show amid the controversy of him assaulting a woman on camera.

Recall that on Monday; a video of an undercover investigation by BBC Africa Eye emerged showing how Isah assaulted a woman who appeared on his show.

His action provoked reactions as many expressed shock over the conduct of the human rights campaigner known for helping ordinary people get justice through his show.

Isah, speaking on Wednesday, apologized for slapping the woman and subsequently announced his decision to end the programme.

He said, “I apologize to everybody that I have offended in one way or the other. Please, I’m a human being. I’m bound to make mistakes. I was triggered by the zeal and passion in me. As a human being, even computers tend to malfunction, there is blood flowing in my veins, I tend to get emotional sometimes.

“Whenever I do anything out-of-control on the basis of emotions, I always apologize when I realize it and correct the mistakes. For those disappointed in me, please forgive me. For those I have offended, please find a place in your heart to forgive me.”

Isah also stressed that his mind has been made up concerning shutting down the program. Meanwhile his fans have pled with him to have a rethink on his decision to end the show, which have provided succor to so many victims of injustice.
